Cooperation MoU signed with Flinders Shire

RAPAD Power Grid project partners, RAPAD and VisIR, have signed a cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Flinders Shire Council, marking another milestone for the future of our initiative and our communities.

The aim of the MoU is to:

  • Advance the objective of economic development in the north mid-west and central west regions, facilitating and leveraging off energy transition investment; 

  • Create an effective communication channel and shared information between RAPAD and Flinders, supported by VisIR, to position their communities and the broader western Queensland region to benefit – including via direct financial revenues – from investment in clean energy infrastructure; 

  • Establish an aligned position on relevant matters (including policy, industry engagement, landowner support, etc.) and be a consistent voice that reflects the best interests of Flinders and the RAPAD region; and 

  • Collaborate with respect to RAPAD Power Grid development being a long-term transmission development to increase investment across the north mid-west and central west into 2030s.
